Emily

My name is Emily, and I am 21 years old. I recently received a tissue graft from the generosity of a tissue donor and their family. I dislocated my knee a few months ago and tore my MPFL among other things. I spent months in chronic pain and began losing hope that I would not be able to do the things I love again. Thanks to the tissue donation program, I was able to receive a donor tendon to help fix my knee and get back to my healthy lifestyle that I missed so much.

I am a college student pursuing a career in nursing and I am so excited to be able to get back to my life without being in constant pain. Without the support and donation from tissue donors and their families, this would not be possible for me, so I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to live a normal life again. Even though their loved one has passed, they are still making an impact on other’s lives in such an amazing way and that is something to always smile about. I cannot say thank you enough!
