Lacey
Tissue Recipient
Hi, my name is Lacey. I’m a single mom of a one-year-old. My story started in 2016 when I was in the gym and dislocated my knee falling and breaking the bone underneath. I had an MRI and was told I tore a ligament. I was in a knee immobilizer and a wheelchair for six months. Fast forward to 2019, I ended up pregnant and had my daughter. Five months later, we got into a bad car accident, but we were luckily unharmed. I tried to help by pushing my car and completely dislocated the same knee. I knew something was wrong. I got another MRI and was informed my ligament had been torn for five to six years. I was lucky it didn’t go out when I was pregnant. I’m so glad I got the surgery and for the donor for my ligament. Now I can keep up and do everything my little girl wants me to do with her with no worries.
